Official Competition Rules & Terms of Entry

These rules apply to all Photo Edit Challenges and Photo of the Month competitions ("Competitions") hosted by SageScape Photo ("Host"). By submitting an entry via Google Forms, you agree to be bound by these terms.

1. Eligibility

Age: Entrants must be 18 years of age or older at the time of entry.

Originality: Photo of the Month: Submitted photos must be the entrant's original work; the entrant must hold 100% of the legal rights to the image.

Photo Edit Challenges: The final edit must be the entrant's original work using the base image provided by the Host.

Account Requirement: Submissions require a Google Account. The name, email, and photo associated with your Google account will be recorded during upload.

2. How to Enter & Submission

Submission Method: Entries must be submitted via the official Google Form linked in the competition announcement.

Collaborator Status: By entering, you agree to accept a "Collaborator" invite on Instagram if selected as a finalist. This is for promotional purposes only and does not constitute a legal partnership or employment.

Deadlines: The Host’s computer clock is the official timekeeper. Late entries are void.

Content Restrictions: Entries must not contain offensive, defamatory, or unlawful material. The Host reserves the right to disqualify any entry for any reason without explanation.

3. Usage Rights & Copyright (The "License")

By submitting an entry, the entrant agrees to the following:

Ownership: You retain the copyright to your original work or edit.

Usage License: You grant SageScape Photo a non-exclusive, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, and irrevocable license to use, reproduce, modify, publish, and display the entry on the SageScape website, social media, and in any future marketing materials.

No Compensation: You acknowledge that you will not be paid for this license. The "prize" is the feature/promotion itself.

4. Judging & Winner Selection

Finality: Winners are selected by the Host or public vote as specified. All decisions are final and non-contestable.

Prizes: If a prize is offered, it is awarded "as is." The Host provides no warranty. Prizes are non-transferable and have no cash alternative.

5. Limitation of Liability (Your Legal Protection)

To the maximum extent permitted by law, SageScape Photo (and the owner personally) shall not be liable for:

Any technical malfunctions of Google Forms, Instagram, or internet connections.

Any unauthorized "scraping" or theft of your images by third parties once posted.

Liability Cap: In no event shall the Host's total liability to any entrant exceed $10.00 USD.

Hold Harmless: By entering, you agree to release, indemnify, and hold harmless SageScape Photo from any and all claims, damages, or liabilities arising from your participation or the use of your image.

6. Third-Party Platforms (Google & Instagram)

Google Forms: This competition is administered via Google. By entering, you agree to Google’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. SageScape Photo is not responsible for Google’s data handling or technical failures.

No Affiliation: This competition is in no way sponsored, endorsed, or administered by, or associated with, Instagram or Meta.

7. Donations & Sponsorship

Donations/Sponsorships made via Venmo or other platforms are voluntary and are not "entry fees." Giving a donation does not increase your chances of winning. All donations are non-refundable and support the continued operation of SageScape Photo projects.

8. Agreement to Terms

By checking the "Terms" box on the Google Form and submitting your file, you explicitly acknowledge:

  1. You have read and agree to these Official Rules.

  2. You have read and agree to SageScape Photo’s Terms of Service, Official Rules, and Privacy Policy.

  3. You verify your eligibility and ownership of the submission.
